When this not-for-profit charity that motivates kids to pursue STEM-related education and career opportunities approached INNERACTION for help booking their Championship's closing entertainment, we jumped at the chance to support their mission. With just a few months to go until the event's 40,000 student attendees converged in St. Louis, the organization had hit numerous roadblocks with their previous talent buyer and needed solutions ASAP.
With careful consideration of the unique and diverse audience of 6-18 year olds from around the country, and a clear understanding of the charity's objectives and past history, we designed a spectacular three-act finale that kicked off with electronic house music DJ & producer, Andy Caldwell; included Christina Grimmie, the YouTube sensation turned 3rd-place winner in Season 6 of NBC's The Voice; and culminated with rock band Boys Like Girls. The crowd literally went wild as all three entertainers made a point to really connect with the group at large and one-on-one throughout the night, even highlighting key sponsors along the way. The result was an electrifying closing to an amazing week of competitions that these incredibly talented kids will never forget.
